Building a Sustainable Food System in Rural North Central Iowa

We are excited to be working with Wright Community Connections of Clarion, IA to create our first educational farm!

Through our partnership, we are working to increase the supply of quality produce for the community and provide an educational hub to teach Iowans in North Central Iowa innovative ways to grow their own food using innovative methods. Below are a few details of the project!

20 Lbs: We expect a weekly production of about 20 lbs of fresh produce, this enough for 75 vegetable servings or the full dietary needs of 30 people!

5 Systems: The farm will also serve as an educational hub for community members and businesses to implement innovative growing methods into their lives. By installing several system types, we hope to create a space that showcases something that can meet the needs of many people.

300 SF: The farm is approximately 300 sf. By packing as much into the room as possible, we will be able to increase the competitiveness of our produce and showcase how spaces can be reused to increase the quantity of fresh food.

We are looking forward to working with community groups such as Iowa State Extension to expand our impact and improve the connections Iowans have with the food system.
